Trails and Towns : Chippewa Lake Amusement Park

Right now, I've got a ton going on. My uncle from California is in town and we've started on a genealogy quest. Y'all, I've found ancestors as far back as the 1100's in Normandy! From there, England, from there, Massachusetts as early as 1630!!! It's pretty exciting. I've also hit some dead ends. We're gonna be checking out a cemetery not too far from us that is chock full of relatives. So for today, a short and sweet post about trespassing!!

There's an old amusement park not too far from my, Chippewa Lake Amusement Park. It closed in the 70s and has been a popular place for trespassing since I was in high school (and for others before). In 2002, the ballroom was burnt down, really ruining a lot of the abandoned beauty. I recently went out there with a friend who is just beginning her adventures in abandoned places. It was slightly a bummer, because all of the coasters have been taken down. But it was worth a drive out there to walk the grounds. She and I have future plans for checking out MORE places!!

  1. I love these... My visits to abandoned houses have been halted since I moved to Denver. I'm sure they're here, in places I could go and not be seen, but I haven't actively looked for them. I miss doing that!

    1. Just go for a drive and look around. Even if you can't get back out to them right away, it can be fun to look!

    1. That is a great blog! I should do more abandoned exploration, but I get afraid of going inside buildings!
