This house is a few blocks away from me. I drive or walk past it on the regular. I just fucking LOVE this house. I'm always a sucker for a good turret and the square of this one makes me so happy! I dream about buying this house and fixing it up and painting it pink or turquoise, but I just don't think it ever will actually happen.
I love old, abandoned houses. I don't find many in Denver, which is something I miss about AL/GA.
ReplyDeleteI love old houses, but abandoned ones make me sad...well, the recently abandoned. Really old ones are cool. You have to go find old mining towns. You'll find cool stuff out there.
DeleteAll my old photography is broken down houses, some still having things inside. Broken floors with plants growing through. I have stages of one house from shortly after it was abandoned till it was a pile of rubble. It's like my special thing.
DeleteI have not gone to mining towns here yet, but my problem is that every time I see one I want to photograph there are no trespassing signs everywhere. I also don't explore like I used to...
My experience has been that if you're just walking somewhere with a camera, people won't care. I've "broken in" to a lot of places without actually damaging anything, just to take photos, and have had the welcome mat rolled out to me by caretakers. I've also been asked to leave. That's about as bad as it gets. Do it with a baby strapped to you, and I bet they'll be even more lenient!
Deleteyou never know it could just happen! have faith!
ReplyDeleteThat's actually totally true!
DeleteI want a round turret. That's all.
ReplyDeletePerfect, then you won't steal this house from me!
DeleteI can totally see why you love this house. When I drive by old Victorian villas I always uh and ah and dream. The square turret is very intriguing.
ReplyDeleteYou and I are of the same heart, friend.
