Recent Work : Kendra's Gatsby Inspired

Last fall, Kendra, my long-time model commissioned me to do a series of boudoir shoots that she would put together in the spring. She had planned to make a photo album as a gift for her boyfriend. I was totally thrilled by this idea. She sent me photos of the wardrobe and told me her ideas and I hunted down the locations. We shot in Cleveland as well as Akron and finished with my own idea in the National Park. The photos gave us opportunities to work out tons of ideas and play around with different sets and looks. It was fun to have my friend and model come to me with her specific ideas, trusting me to make her vision work.

The first in the series was a Gatsby-inspired look. We headed up to the Lake Erie Building in Cleveland. We wandered a bit until we found this really great room with a loft built into it. We went up the stairs to the loft where there was old bathroom materials. After we were done in the loft, we headed down to the bottom section of the room, filled with old chairs. The radiators were on and HOT! It was definitely a warm shoot. There was one man who came around, talking on his phone, and so we pulled the curtain in the doorway and finished the shoot quickly. The Lake Erie Building is beautiful and sneaking around for a fun, sexxy shoot is always exciting!

  1. I love a good b&w life modelling shoot. Beautiful shots. I particularly like the soft lighting from the window.

    1. Yes-ish. There are public studios but we walked past one and this lady was like, "Did you sign in at the office?" We said, "Yep!" and kept walking!
