Disaster Training

This past summer, I took an almost awesome gig for a couple of weeks, doing disaster training with the National Guard on the base about 45 minutes from where I live. It seemed like it was going to pay well, until they started keeping us for ten hours a day and wanted to put us through decontamination which involved getting soaked. Also, some of the guardsmen were total dicks and mean. Everything was disorganized. We just wanted to have fun makeup put on us, act like we were disaster victims, and make some sweet money.

That didn't happen.

Instead, guardsmen ignored us, we sat around for hours and hours at a time, and we didn't make such sweet money because of the long hours. But the base was cool, and it was a thing I did, so that is kinda neat.
