Last spring, while it was still very cold, my uncle came for a visit. This is my mom's brother...I don't know my dad's side of the family anymore. While he was here, we embarked on a sort of fun trip down lineage lane. I don't remember what prompted it, but I think it was my uncle. One day after we went to wear he spread my grandpa's ashes, we just started talking and joined Ancestry and just started looking. We found a cemetery in Chardon, OH that was just FULL of my relatives. So we went there and did some grave rubbings.

We found ancestors back to 1577 AND THEN back to 1040! Later, Adam and I went to the Soldiers and Sailors Monument in downtown Cleveland and found more of my relatives in the monument. All of this hunting has led me down the path of the Daughters of the American Revolution, which I've decided to join. I've since continued the heritage searching and have found that, so far, my family has been in the U.S. since WAY before the Revolution. I can find people in the U.S. in the 1600's!!! It's kinda crazy and awesome.
